With over two decades of gospel music excellence and keeping millions of music lovers in South Africa and the world at large entertained, Joyous Celebration is back with yet another edition that is set to ignite the city of Durban during the Easter weekend.

The award-winning gospel music ensemble will present its Easter MEGAFEST and REWIND Show over a two-day extravaganza that will take place at the iconic Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (Durban ICC) on the 19^th and 20^th of April 2025. The internationally acclaimed music group has grown leaps and bounds, producing some of the best gospel music acts celebrated across the globe. Celebrating an outstanding 28 years of praise and worship, the shows promise to be a sensational combination of the signature Joyous sound, look, presentation style and quality production values that Joyous fans and supporters have come to know and love!

“What started off as an idea many years ago has become an institution like no other that continues to offer an awe-inspiring gospel experience to music lovers and supporters all around. This year we are committed to making a blaring come back with a surprise treat that will leave the attendees refreshed and wanting for more, as the Durban show will also serve as a prelude to our Joyous tours that will be announced very soon,” lauds the already excited co-founder of Joyous Celebration, Dr. Lindelani Mkhize.

A revival like no other, with sizzling sounds featuring ‘rewind’ hits will not only offer uplifting performances, but a unique, memorable and spectacular day featuring loads of activities such as a gospel marketplace and platform presented by our partners. The REWIND show will throwback to Joyous hits from the past, with appearances from joyous alumni that will leave fans in shivers of nostalgia from some of these musical greats who once shared the Joyous Celebration stage.

Dr. Mkhize also adds: “Because we are a brand shaped by our followers, fans and patrons over the many years we have stood, this year we will invite the public to contribute towards the running order of the production by selecting their favourite cast members and songs to feature on the Joyous stage. Details will be shared on our social media platforms and will be vetted according to popularity and demand.”

The shows not only serve as an entertainment platform; but continue to drive the mandate of developing and empowering the creative sector through identifying deserving talent and offering them an opportunity to grow. As an institution in contact with the people on the ground, we remain committed to playing a impactful role in the various societies we belong, and that is why on the 18^th of April 2025, just before the Easter weekend – we will convene all church denominations at the Durban ICC for a FREE afternoon Easter MegaFest service that will be presented through music and prayer, in response to the various issues affecting the community. These include climate change, social ills, moral decay, violent crimes, GBV and other related scourges.
